Callidus Guild is one of the world’s premier ateliers for bespoke wallcoverings and fine finishes, internationally recognized for its hand-painted wallpapers and on-site surface installations. Each project is a fusion of artistry, craftsmanship, and elevated design—transforming walls into immersive, tactile environments.
Founded by Principal Artist Yolande Milan Batteau, Callidus Guild is the culmination of over 25 years of mastery in ancient materials and decorative techniques. Batteau has cultivated a deep, intuitive knowledge of classical processes—tooling, embedding, and manipulating materials such as plaster, precious metals, mother-of-pearl, and handmade pigments—reimagining them through a contemporary lens to shape the studio’s signature collections.
We design, produce, and install custom wallcoverings and surfaces for a diverse range of interiors—from serene, small-scale residential spaces and striking feature walls, to expansive, opulent commercial and hospitality environments around the globe.
Each surface is fully handcrafted in New York City, where a team of rigorously trained artisans bring exceptional and unique skill to the studio floor. This commitment to handcraft and artistic harmony is central to the Callidus Guild ethos.
