FLEURS DU BIEN

announcing

Callidus Guild introduces Fleurs du Bien, an original collection of handmade plaster wallcoverings that expands upon their signature style. This new exploration allows the designs to emerge as fresh, mysterious, and exuberant.

Fleurs du Bien includes three designs – Nefertem, Sweet Pea, and Forget Me Not that débuted at Paris Déco Off 2025 – each showcasing distinctive florals that deeply resonate with Callidus Guild founder and principal artist Yolande Milan Batteau.

Drawing inspiration from her garden and the simple beauty of flowers, Batteau leaned into what brings her joy. The resulting collection is a multisensory experience, reconnecting us with nature and nourishing the soul.

Nefertem evokes the shimmering qualities of Egyptian water lilies with inlaid mother-of-pearl and gold glaze on a rich micaceous plaster featuring well-defined and striking crystalline lines. This sumptuously layered hypnotic design epitomizes the Callidus Guild ethos and aesthetic.

Sweet Pea grew out of Batteau’s memories of her mother’s garden – where climbing stems reached toward the sun and unfurled their blooms releasing intoxicating and unique scents even as they remained deeply rooted in the earth. Floral forms echoed in multiple hues of marble plaster are concealed and revealed through layers of tinted waxes.

Forget Me Not transforms the vibrating blur of a densely packed field of star-shaped petals into an intricate pattern reminiscent of 18th century French woven damask. What looks deceptively like a digitized matrix is the lyrical play of delicate motifs over layers of chromatic plaster and coats of wax that ebb and flow over the details of hand-rendered lines and shadows.

The full Fleurs du Bien collection, including additional designs and colorways, will début in spring 2025.

We are pleased to announce the launch of two surfaces with Élitis: a commercial version of our “Combed Plaster” and a printed, textured wallcovering “Abstract Floral”.

Combed Plaster draws from the humility of traditional plasterwork, celebrating imperfect simplicity. Each stroke echoes the mastery of ancient techniques, meticulously replicating and refining the nuances found in traditional plaster application, a testament to meticulous craftsmanship.

This surface is complemented by a singular abstract floral panorama. In this wallcovering, 18th-century floral motifs, originally appearing in the finest hand-loomed silk, are scaled up and painstakingly recreated by hand in several painted iterations.
