THE NEW MYTHOLOGY

We are honored to offer The New Mythology: a selection of designs and finishes that were conceived during one of the most tumultuous times on Earth. When everything around us is thrown into question, it is possible to see the world through clear eyes; to envision a place for ourselves not yet within reach. This collection is about finding joy in the unknown, that vast potential for acts of creation and for life itself. Meticulously handcrafted in our atelier, this collection is a love letter to untold histories and bold reinventions. The old world has passed. Welcome to The New Mythology.

Comprised of seven distinct surfaces: Etherea, Moon, Katsura, Cumulus, Agleam, Glimmer, and Phlume.

ETHEREA

A brush with the laws of nature. Colors seep and flow, blend and bleed, betraying their fluid moment of encounter with a physical surface. Each piece is utterly unique — a one-of-a-kind duet between liquid and pigment. Or perhaps Monet and Frankenthaler.

MOON

Mother-of-pearl ovoids shimmer across striated fields of color, conjuring waterlilies, strange lacunae or perhaps theview from the deep within a glass of Taittinger. Such is the effervescent charm of Moon, a place that sits somewhere between Manhattan and the far reaches of the known universe.

KATSURA

Breathes new life into a pattern that is as old as geometry itself. Each sheet is created entirely by hand and adorned with metallic paint on a marble dust plaster ground — a quiet meditation on balance and duality in reflective finishes that read as positive or negative depending on the play of light.

CUMULUS

Evocative of both the transcendent mark-making of Cy Twombly and the frenzied tags of 80s subway graffiti artists, Cumulus is as studied as it is expressive. Its loose, casual appearance belies the rigor required in making each individual sheet part of a larger, cohesive whole.

AGLEAM

Like the ghost of an image of marble islands reflected in a strangely calm ocean, each handcrafted sheet of Agleam mirrors the mood and rhythm of its making. The texture and physicality of each horizontal element is a quiet and deliberate counterpoint to the ground, above which it seems to float.

GLIMMER

With serene neutral tones overlaid with subtle textures And punctuated by rectilinear forms, Glimmer comes to life in delicate moments of shine when light dances over horizontal and vertical metallic lines that call to mind the decisive incisions of Lucio Fontana.

PHLUME

The bold and dynamic interplay between Phlume's furrowed planes toys with light and shadow like a cubist fever dream — all facets and forms. Combined with gold and silver leaf the result is nothing short of mesmerizing, like shattered glass frozen in a hall of mirrors.
